What do you need to prepare for Freediving couple photography?

Freediving Technical Preparation

• Freediving Skills: Both people should master freediving skills, including the ability to hold their breath, relax, and dive deep.
• Safe:There will always be someone on duty to ensure safety throughout the shoot.
• Location: Choose a location with clear water, good lighting and not too crowded for clear photos.
• Mentality: A comfortable mindset will help you complete the photo session quickly and effectively. Avoid stress as it will consume more oxygen while diving.

Underwater photography equipment

• Waterproof camera: Use a specialized camera for underwater photography such as GoPro, or a camera with a waterproof housing.
• Lens: Use a wide-angle lens to capture the entire landscape and underwater scene.
• Underwater flash: If diving in deep water, natural light is not enough, flash or underwater light will help to highlight the details.

Clothing and style

Costumes are one of the factors that determine the success of the photo shoot (depending on the diving area, choose suitable and outstanding costumes).

• Skin: Wear a wetsuit, freediving fins or swimsuit in a style you like, but one that is comfortable and allows for easy movement in the water.
• Pose: Posing naturally and comfortably, gentle movements in the water will help the photo become softer and more artistic. Both of you have the ability to pose well, coordinate well and understand each other, maintain interaction and always observe each other (exchange and refer to favorite poses with the cameraman and supporter, can practice before the photo shoot)

Time and light

• Choose a time: Dive in the early morning or late afternoon for the best natural light (Weather is still an important factor in bringing a quality photo set.)
• Test shot: If possible, take some time to take test shots to get used to the water and find a good angle.
