History of Long Son Pagoda
Built in the 19th century, on the top of Trai Thuy hill (right at the current location of White Buddha), Long Son pagoda was originally just a thatched roof house called Dang Son Tu.
In the year Canh Ty 1900, the pagoda was completely collapsed after a strong storm, so the founder of the pagoda decided to move the pagoda to the foot of Trai Thuy hill today. In 1963, according to the will of Venerable Ngo Chi, the Nguyen family donated Long Son Nha Trang Pagoda to the An Nam Buddhist Association to serve as the headquarters for the revival of Buddhism in Khanh Hoa.

In the 14th year of Bao Dai (1938), the temple was granted the title "Sac tu Long Son Tu" by the king.
In 1941, Long Son Nha Trang Pagoda was restored thanks to the dedication of President Ton That Quyen and Buddhist Vo Dinh Thuy.
In 1968, the temple's tiled roof collapsed due to war.
In 1971, Venerable Thich Thien Binh restored the pagoda.
By 1975, the restoration of 60% was completed according to the design of architect Vo Dinh Diep.
